MBE Question of the Day

Mistake of law would not be a defense in which of the following scenarios: (
A) A defendant is told by a police officer that it is legal to park in a particular location and is then arrested by the same officer for parking in that location.
(B) A defendant is arrested for distribution of narcotics after being told by an attorney that selling narcotics is legal if sold in quantities of less than 1 gram.
(C) A defendant’s attorney tells the defendant that the defendant has a legal right to enter onto certain property which belongs to someone else. The defendant enters the property and is arrested for trespass. Applicable law for criminal trespass in the jurisdiction has a ‘knowingly’ element for violation of the law.
(D) A defendant is arrested for violating a statute only signed into law that morning, before the text of the law is made available to the public.
