States will get bar exam materials by July

The National Conference of Bar Examiners, which develops the MBE (multistate portion of the bar exam) that 49 U.S. states use, has announced that it will indeed provide materials for this July’s bar exams, despite some jurisdictions having postponed their test to September due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The NCBE said in a statement that it made the decision to provide the materials because it “has determined that there will most likely be a sufficient number of July examinees to administer the exam.”

Many states, including New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, have already made the decision to have the exam this September, and many others have not officially released a statement yet but are still waiting to see if they will be able to proceed with the test in July as scheduled.
