Next New York Law Examination – December 15, 2016

To be admitted to the bar in New York, you must, in addition to passing the Uniform Bar Examination,  take the New York Law Course (NYLC) and pass the  New York Law Examination (NYLE).   The NYLC is a 15 hour online course that covers Administrative Law, Business Relationships, Civil Practice and Procedure, Conflict of Laws, Contracts, Criminal Law and Procedure, Evidence, Matrimonial and Family Law, Professional Responsibility, Real Property, Torts and Tort Damages, and Trusts, Wills and Estates.  After completion of the NYLC, the applicant must take the NYLE which is a 50 question, two hour, open book, multiple choice test administered online.  In 2017, the NYLE will be offered March 16, June 15,  September 14, and  December 14.  The next NYLE will be on December 15, 2016. The deadline to complete the New York Law Course and register for the December 15, 2016 exam is November 15, 2016.  For more information see the New York State Board of Law Examiners’ website.
